Cream of the Crop

The fun of Lush, the affordability of the Body Shop and the quality of a designer product. That’s the premise of Pure Radiant Energy, a collection of skin-care products developed by Vancouverites Caroline and Maury . The pair cooked up the idea for P.R.E after Maury witnessed his fiancée drop $300 on brand-name skin creams. The lotions they sell at P.R.E, are the product of a year’s research and collaboration with two cosmetic chemists. What they created were products they both can use and everyone can afford. One favourite they share is the Cactus Facial Hydrating Gel . Caroline uses it for extra protection during the winter and “it wiped out my dry, chapped skin in weeks,” she claims. Maury likes it because it’s fragrance-free and non-greasy. It’s a nice, light moisturizer with a matte finish when you wear it on its own. Or do what Caroline does before she goes for a jog at the beach and slip it on under your regular moisturizer for an extra moisture boost.  Sea Kelp and Green Tea are the soothing agents, witch hazel combats oiliness, and hyaluronic acid (derived from fresh cucumber) acts as a moisture magnet.
